People Were Shocked When I Turned Down An Amazing Job – Here’s Why
Some people were shocked when I turned down an amazing job. Here’s why I chose to decline the booking.
When You Should Turn Down a Project – Even an Amazing Job
There are a few reasons why actors and models should always turn down a job. One of the reasons is (if this is a TV spot or commercial modeling project) if you don’t want to be associated with the product, company or organization. Perhaps you are a vegan and don’t want to support companies that promote eating meat. Then you might not want to be in an add for fast food restaurants. Or, maybe you aren’t comfortable with some of the language you have to say in the scene. It’s possible that you are being asked to do something in a scene that you just don’t want to do.
Accepting Or Turning Down A Great Job Is Your Call
You never want to do something that you will regret. I know how hard it is to say no to an agent. With my nearly 1,300 bookings, I have only turned down around 6:00. Agents might not like you turning down a job, but a good agent will understand and be supportive, even if they aren’t happy with your decision. The part might go to an actor from another agency, so your agent won’t get any percentages from the booking or residuals.
Sometimes Saying No Is A Smart Decision
As important as our work is, and how difficult it can be to get a booking, sometimes turning the project down is the best thing to do.
In this video, I will not only share with you the reason I turned down a great booking but also when actors should always turn down a job and the best way to do it.
