Maybe I Shouldn’t Have Said This to an Actor
On howtoactandmodel.com, I receive many questions from beginning and even experienced actors and models. There is one question that I see a lot. Perhaps I should not have responded to this actors question this way.
This actor was interested in signing up to have an online mentoring session with me. I love these acting, modeling and industry sessions. It allows me to help people from around the world learn how to have success.
What the Actor Asked Me
One of the first questions the actor asked was how long will it take until she books her first job. The second questions was how much she will make in both acting and modeling jobs.
This is What I told Her
I know it would have been good for business if I told her that she will begin booking acting and modeling jobs very soon. And, that she will make a lot of money by studying with me.
But, that is not what I believe. And I would never run my mentoring business in a dishonest way.
The truth is that there are no guarantees in the acting or modeling industry.
I have been very fortunate and have been booked over 1,250 times in my career, but there is no guarantee that I will book another job.
What I did say to the actor is that I can guarantee to give you the information you need to give yourself your best chance for success.
But, your success is partially based on how hard you work, how willing your are to practice and put into practice what I teach you so that you become really good at your craft. And, that you work hard at making yourself known to the industry.
If anyone tells you that they can guarantee you success as an actor or a model – run. There is no way anyone can promise you anything with any certainty.
