Make Your On Camera Narration Performances Powerful
One of the ways you can make your on camera narration performances powerful is to know how to properly use a teleprompter. Before I share this with you, first, I want to make sure you know what an on camera narrator does on projects.
The on camera narrator is the person who is reading directly into the camera and most likely is reading off a teleprompter. The person is typically sharing a lot of information for the audience. Unlike most acting performances, the on camera narrator typically won’t look at the other actor.
How An On Camera Narrator Must Use a Teleprompter
If the on camera narrator is using a teleprompter, it is very important to only look at the teleprompter. One of the 7 strategies you will learn in this video is that once you begin reading off of the prompter, the on camera narrator must continue to look at the teleprompter. There is an urge to look at the other person (if there is someone else in the project,) but you can’t look back and forth from the prompter to the person. It will look very strange.
Practice Using A Teleprompter Like An On Camera Narrator
You can practice using a teleprompter as if you are working as an on camera narrator by using the free website http://cueprompter.com/ This will give you the opportunity to try looking straight into the camera and play it back or look back and forth as if you are also talking with another actor to see how it looks.

Working as an on camera narrator can pay a lot. Union rates for a full-day (at least 8 hours) on camera narrator job pays over $1,100. And, you might get a chance to learn some very interesting things from the script.
Practice Being an On Camera Narrator
Spend time practicing with a teleprompter app so you are proficient at reading a prompter. That way if an opportunity for you to work as an on camera narrator happens, you will be ready.
