You mentioned you get there early as you have to memorize , which makes sense. Do you wait to sign in closer to your call time, after you have worked on the sides? I have found if I sign in when I get there early and try to familiarize myself with sides, sometimes the casting director is ready early and they call me in and I’m not quite ready.
Mary, that is a great question. If you are attending a Union casting, you are given a very specific time slot. I normally just hide until I am ready, so that way no one will call me in until I am ready.
If there is no specific time slot, maybe you could even leave the casting office and find a quiet place to work on your sides.
