To help you create powerful auditions, always watch the TV show you are auditioning for. This will allow you to know what type of show you are reading for.
If you are auditioning for a film, then look up the director on IMDB. Get the names of the film he/she has directed and watch clips. This will give you a much better sense of the style of the director

Read the sides with absolutely no emotion. Make sure you understand the meaning and how to pronounce all of the words.
