4 Things That Will Help You Book the Job

September 1, 2019 0 Comments

There are 4 things you can do that will help you book the acting or modeling job.

I had a great opportunity to help other actors get booked for a few industrial films. I was
asked by some people whom I had done some films for in the past, if I could find
actors for a few upcoming projects. It was a great learning
experience and a wonderful opportunity to help other talent get work.

4 Things You Can Do to Help You Book the Job

Make life easy for the casting director and client.

  1. Send your audition back as soon as you can.

There were some people who waited a long time to get their auditions back. By the time I received them, the role was cast.

    2. Best Way to Send Your Head Shot and Resume

When you are sending your head shot and resume, email them as attachments. Some people
inserted them into their email. I could not easily copy and paste them and send them to the
client. And, don’t send your resume as a JPEG. It is hard to read. Always send a resume as
either a Word file or PDF. I prefer getting them as PDF’s, but either works.3. Make sure I can easily reach you.

On a number of resumes there was no contact information.
After sending a head shot and resume to the client, if they were interested in the actor, there
was not an easy way for me to get back in touch with them.
I would have to go through my trash file and find an email address. Always, at least have
your email address in your resume.

    4. Best Way to Label Your Information

Don’t send a head shot labeled as “new head shot_9_2019.” Always
place your name and maybe your phone number (or your agents) as the name of the file.
That makes it so easy for the client to know who they are looking at when viewing a head shot.

The same holds true for your resume. Label the file with your name.
It makes things so easy for everyone.I remembered the people who did not follow my simple directions.
I am not saying I would never contact them again if I thought they were right for a role,
but if I have a choice of a few people, I might push for the one who followed directions,
made things easy for me and one whom I think will be really easy to work with on a set.
