2 Secrets For Looking Into The Lens With Free Teleprompter App
Learn 2 secrets for looking into the lens with a free teleprompter app. I had to shoot a 2-minute video
at home and needed to use a teleprompter. All of the free teleprompter apps I used had me reading
the script slightly camera left. I was never looking directly into the lens of the camera.
Why I Only Wanted to Use A Free Teleprompter App
I rarely use a teleprompter at home, only on sets. So, I didn’t want to invest in buying
a teleprompter or paying for a teleprompter app. Hours were spent trying to get my eyes
looking directly into the lens.
Discovering 2 Secrets For Looking Into The Lens With Free Teleprompter App
Don’t know if this ever happens to you, but it is not uncommon for ideas to appear in my brain very early in the morning. Around 4:00 AM an idea came to me. Maybe I could build a little platform and place my cell phone very close to the lens of the lap top camera. Then, if I moved further back, from the laptop, it will actually look like I am staring directly into the camera lens. Taking off the rubber protection case of my cell phone also allowed me to move the camera close to the lens.
You Can See The Cell Phone In The Shot
It became clear to me that it was OK to move the cell phone so close to the camera that it
could be seen in the video. That was fine. Because, I also knew that when I edited the video,
the side of the visible cell phone could easily be cropped out. It worked.
