Hi Aaron! I just started my own small business as an Independent Distributor with It Works! Global a health and wellness product company and absolutely love it! It’s the perfect job for actors because you work on your own time and conduct your own hours. The best part is the passive stream of revenue that comes in so I can go on auditions and still be making money. I started this business part time and it is growing so quickly that I will soon be able to rely solely on this to pay my expenses! Truly a dream come true especially if you are living in expensive NYC!
Hi, Aaron! I had a great deal of success in the marketing industry. Many manufacturers, especially in electronics, hire third party companies to supply brand representatives in retail outlets. The pay is good, but it’s part time. The schedule is fixed, so you can plan around it. If you need something more flexible, merchandising companies have field agents who do anything from check display integrity to install displays or re-stock them. These are individual visits that you have the opportunity to accept or refuse at will. Also, there are a lot of mystery shopping firms out there which operate the same way. I was able to make almost $20/year through a combination of these gigs, and still had time to pursue my stunt/stage combat training to a fully certified status.
I also recommend those who can type, to check with their local towns. There are committees the town has that require minute taking (Planning and Zoning; Board of Adjustments) and the city manager hires an independent contractor to attend 1-2 meetings a month of the different committees and type the minutes. The time is spent only to attend the 1-2 hour meeting each month and the minutes are typed on your own time and equipment. I did this for a couple of years until I cleaned my slate to work on my screenplays, however, they are still calling me with the need from time to time.
Thanks again for all the work you do to help us grow!
What a great idea. I will be sure to share this with others. Do you have a specific suggestion on how to find the right people to contact for this type of work?
Thank you so much again and I also really appreciate you kind words.
Aaron

Hi Miranda. That sounds incredible. How do you find people to sell your products to?
That is a great idea.
Thanks.

That sounds like a great gig. How would you recommend people find those types of jobs?
