A Horrible Audition Mistake Cost Me a Job-1 Solution
I made a horrible audition mistake that cost me a job for a national TV commercial. Watch and learn the 1 simply solution.
I drove a total of 14 hours for the initial audition for a national TV commercial. Then I drove an additional 14 hours for the call back.
The national spot was for a beautiful hotel. The scene had the woman (who was playing my wife) and I celebrating a special moment at the hotel. We were in love and having a wonderful time.
A Horrible Audition Mistake Cost Me a Job
During the audition reaching over and putting my arm around the other actor’s shoulder felt right to me. We were in love, having an amazing time and that is what my instincts were telling me to do. Apparently, it was not OK for her.
A Solution to My Audition Mistake
After putting my arm around her shoulder, I could feel her body
getting tense. And, she was gently pulling away from me. I was
surprised and taken out of our scene while she seemed so uncomfortable with me. We were husband and wife, in love and now there was no positive chemistry between us.
The Simple Solution to My Audition Mistake
I should have simply asked her prior to doing the scene, if it felt right
to me, would it be OK if I put my arm around her or held her hand. If she had said no, then that would have been fine. At least there would not have been any awkward moments during the call back. And, by discussing this ahead of time, she would have been better prepared for what could happen during our scene.
