The 1 Biggest Acting Reel Mistake Actors Make – How To Make A Great Reel
https://youtu.be/JKOfeq4tEaA?feature=shared I thought of 6 more acting reel mistakes actors make and wanted to share them with you.
Here are the 6 additional acting reel mistakes
1. Don’t add special music or a soundtrack to your acting reel. If there is music in your clips, that is fine. But, don’t act like a composer and add additional music.
2. Don’t turn your reel into a slick and fancy edited reel. Having interesting fades and cuts from one scene to the next will stop agents and casting directors from viewing you as an actor. Instead you will be looked at as an editor.
3. Always have the name of the project at the beginning (I prefer the lower left side of the clip) so people know what they are watching. My title will last around 3 seconds.
4 & 5. Don’t slate your name, height, or other information as part of your reel. But, it will be helpful to have your name contact information (yours or your agent’s) as a slide at the end. This will allow people to know whom and how to contact you.
6. Always label your acting reel professionally. Use your name and state – film and TV reel or whatever types of clips are on your acting reel.
