1 Audition Strategy That Got Me Cast On My First NBC TV Show
This 1 audition strategy got me cast on my first NBC TV show.
The Most Important Audition Strategy to Get You Cast On a TV Show
The most important audition strategy is not trying to figure out what a casting director might be wanting in the audition. There is no way to know what a casting director wants or needs from an actor. Don’t even try to figure this out.
My 1 audition strategy is to have fun. I play around with ideas that might not be the most obvious, but still makes sense for the character.
The audition is when the actor can be creative and do anything that feels right and interesting. That is how I decide on choices for auditions.
My Audition Strategy For This NBC TV Show
My character, Mr. Cahill, was the executive director of a wealthy country club. Three members of his club are murdered. Instead of showing my sadness for these losses, during my interview with the homicide detectives (Andre Braugher and Kyle Secor) I took a different approach.
Although I felt bad about the murders, I was also feeling the loss of income from three family members. I was the money person at the club. And, I was concerned that other members might leave. And, now it will be harder to attract new families. As you will hear in the video, I got a call back and a few notes from the director. And, I booked on the show.
